In this letter, I will be informing you about the goals I wish to achieve in my research project during the upcoming school holidays.
I'm quite unfamiliar with my chosen topic of Doctors without Borders at Medecins Sans Frontiers; therefore, I plan on doing some extensive background research into this organisation during the first quarter of the holidays. As seen in my proposal, I hope to answer the following questions:
Who are Medecins Sans Frontiers? What does their work involve? Who do they assist?
How much funding is needed to support their work? What does the funding go towards?
What inspires members of Medecins Sans Frontiers to continue doing their job?
Doing this research will allow me to confirm my interest in the topic, and if otherwise, it will give me on opportunity to consider a new topic of interest.
If I decide to continue my research on this topic, I believe that the next step will be to begin compiling charity videos from You Tube or like websites for analysis in Term 3. It will be necessary to do this during the school holidays at home as school computers block these websites from student access.
I will then use the remaining time available to download Sony Vegas, and begin learning how to use the program to create my video with the help of my brother. This will prepare me well for analysing the charity videos in depth next term, and enable me to launch straight into planning out and creating my own charity video for Doctors without Borders at Medecins San Frontiers after the analysis.
During the completion of the above tasks, I will also be documenting my progresses in learning along with ideas, predictions, achievements, interesting information or any other problems that I encounter as a journal. This will be presented as evidence for 'Personal Development' and another chosen capability.
In conclusion to this letter, I hope you have a good idea of my plans for these holidays. It will be greatly appreciated if you could reply to me with suggestions for improvement or any other comments.
